Emergency Response Awareness (GEN06)

Target audience

The whole airport community: aerodrome operators, airlines, station agents and ground handling service providers.

Objectives

• Know the Aerodrome Emergency Plan and the basic vocabulary of emergency response
• Identify the main types of emergency situations, their phases and alert levels
• Understand the role of the organisations involved: operator, airlines, ground handlers, rescue services, security, authorities
• Know the responsibilities of each party during an accident, incident or major event, including the "4 C" principle
• Identify the facilities and means used to coordinate the emergency response
• Understand the role of the local incident control centre in operational coordination
• Adopt the right reflexes for assisting people and communicating with empathy, including with the media and on social networks
• Understand recovery and business continuity principles for returning to normal operations
